I came in with high hopes and was a little disappointed with this book compared to the first one, [b:The Innocent|12849385|The Innocent (Will Robie, #1)|David Baldacci|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1329854216l/12849385._SY75_.jpg|17594837]. There were a lot more characters to follow which got confusing and the story was slow for the most part. Plus even though it was the same narrator he sounded different than the last book where I kept picturing Robert Redford. Oh well, I'm still going to continue the series because Robie is the best and I want to see what happens with Julie and now Jessica. I don't understand why Vance and Robie could be a thing (FBI vs CIA). They both can't say anything about each their lives. It's like their playing poker and trying to bluff each other the whole time.
How did Robie know to find Reel in the middle of Arkansas? Also why does Robie shoot the porch floor when he's trying to break into a house? These are questions that demand to be answered.
I still don't understand this apocalypse note that was supposed to destroy the world which is pathetic because that was the point of this whole story.
Why does stupid HIPPA state that it's a breach of confidentiality to tell another their health status? What could anther person have to gain by knowing why I came into the hospital? One of those stupid laws made I guess.

This is the first David Baldacci book that I have read and I really did like it. I just kept wanting to turn the pages to see what was going to happen next and what will Will Robbie discover! Definitely an interesting read!

Have read a lot of David Baldacci’s books and this series is not my favorite. Purchased the audio and of course the narrator does a good job, as well as the author; however, it was a little slow moving starting out. I have read some good books lately, so did not enjoy as much as others I have in comparison. I am sure his fans will love.

Watching latest James Bond brought me back into spy action/adventure literature :)
What starts as the hunt for a rogue assassin ends up as a more complex mission for our protagonist Will Robie. As he tries to navigate that middle-ground between blind obedience and analytical thinking about the missions assigned to him, Robie will soon find himself on the wrong end of [multiple] gun[s]. Only by his experience and still quick reflexes he will manage to survive.
Story has whole bunch of twists and turns and although at some points we enter the cliches of the genre, actions and feats of both Robie and other characters seem very realistic.
Highly recommended to all fans of thrillers and spy novels.

This was an easy read with some thrills and suspense. BUT overall it’s giving slightly generic and boring. I’m glad to see more of Will’s personality shine through in the 2nd instalment, but ultimately it wasn’t enough to really draw me in. Jessica was rather poorly written – she wasn’t interesting and felt very distant throughout. I didn’t understand her character much, so it was hard to care about her.
It would be interesting to see how the relationship between Will and Jessica develops over the series, and to learn more about their backstory. But there’s not much drive for me to pick up the next book… because I’m starting to feel that the writing is rather cliché, with lots of wooden dialogue and unnecessary details that get abit draggy.

Another great character pairing, Will Robie and Jessica. I will definitely finish the series and would love to read more about them.

This is typical Baldacci; conspiracy to do bad things at high levels of the government and a hero risking all to thwart them. Robie is sent to kill another CIA assassin who has killed other members of the agency but ends up working with her. Bloody and unlikely but oh so readable!
