The romance between our hyper efficient secretary and vampire boss continues. In this volume Kaya discovers she has fallen for her boss - something something drama happens.
To be honest this rating is basically for making me smile. This is the most ridiculous series but I really like the art and the OTT nature of it.

Hmmm... I still have pretty mixed feelings on this series. I like that Kaya finally put herself first, and put that vampire ass in his place, but she caved a bit too quickly for my taste. He might surprise us and be a better guy in the next volume though.

Ohmi knows how to write a vampire story! This is delicious. Ohmi serves us all the vampire-mortal love drama we could ever want all with excellent panel art. I love onomatopoeias for the characters walking, and doors it just adds a perfect layer to it all.
If you like swoony power vamp romances oh baby this series is for you.
The MC is still a little annoying, but like it's so fun, I don't even care.
I gagged when he spilled his drink on her at the party just to get her alone.
You already know I'm going to read the last five.

I am really enjoying this series. It’s so much better than I thought it’d be.
Kaya is getting so caught up in her feelings for Kyohei. She doesn’t take forever to realize it, though, which I appreciated. And then she doesn’t take forever to do something about it, either. It’s so refreshing seeing a female character doing something about her feelings, not hiding from them. On the other hand Kyohei is running from his, in total denial. And while I’m sure that there’s still going to be drama related to it, it seems like Kaya is realizing how he feels, as well. It’s a definite step in the right direction, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes from here. Also, there was some actual smut in this volume, and that was nice.
Then there’s the whole work part of the story, and how Kaya focuses on her job, is good at it, and is firm about doing it. That’s so nice to see, and I really like that Kaya doesn’t waver about any of it, because it’s important to her, and she will win that argument against Kyohei.
Their whole characters and dynamic is refreshing to me, I guess, since I see so much more of the weak, malleable heroine. There’s still quite a bit to explore in this series, I think, including their pasts and their relationship developing even more.
I’m looking forward to the next volume, and am enjoying having the releases bimonthly a whole lot.

The slow, excruciating build up to their eventual intimacy was SO GOOD. It’s still a fairly toxic relationship, so I don’t support Kyohei’s attitude and behavior (especially if displayed in real life). Despite the toxicity though, you can’t help but root for them even though you know it’s unhealthy. This series is definitely a guilty pleasure and I’m devouring each book in a single sitting!
