Enjoyable! Most of it is stuff that's already in the books, but there were some deeper insights into things I wasn't sure about such as the Shara and the origins of the Aiel as well as the facts behind the rise and fall of Hawkwing's empire and its links to the Seanchan. Mostly, it was just nice returning to this world I know and love: in this sense, a light comfort read x

3.8 Because I read this after the 12th book, a lot of the info was already familiar to me, though I did learn some new info especially related to the world history, the Forsaken, and Seachan. Would recommend to read after about book 7, whenever it was published in the book order. Very fun but hoped for more.

I think that this is a nice resource for those who wish to have a central repository of the history. Will enhance many of the backstories. Also completed after Book 7, so you can read it halfway thru series. I bought it initially thinking it was just written. My bad for not reading the publication date.

While the information is nice to have, it was written in such a dry manner that I felt like I was reading a text book. Also, the character portraits were rather lacking.
