Beautiful illustrations: check.
Nice rhyming rhythm: check.
A pinch of humor: check.
Being able to convince a small child to go to bed because the construction trucks are going too: priceless.
Update: The more I read this to the kids, the more it bothers me that every single piece of construction equipment in this story is a "he." Not one "she" in the bunch. So I fix it when I read it, but it still grates on my nerves. I just saw there is a new Construction Site book coming in 2017, and I can only hope that there's at least some token representation. Because really, how hard is it to have a lady cement mixer when it doesn't affect the illustrations or the rhyme scheme? It is almost literally the least one could do.

My girls loved to read about the big machines going to sleep and they enjoyed guessing what was being built. It was fun and I liked the length, too. Great book, and clever idea.

Not bad for what it is: feeding the tractor obsession of toddlers everywhere. The illustrations are clever and appealing.

At the construction site, various machines end their work and prepare for night time.
A cute story to read aloud at bedtime for those construction-loving kids!

My son ADORES this book. He's pretty much got it memorized at age 3.

Totally inspired. Wonderful bedtime book for my truck obsessed child. Bonus--it uses the correct names for the trucks!

This is a repeat for Everett. Board Book version with lots of rhyming and he loves the pictures.

One of my son's favorite bedtime books! Great illustrations, with a lot of character, and easy, fun rhymes.
