And the conclusion to the Zoe Bentely series. I've enjoyed getting to know Zoe. She's prickly and blunt and most people have a tough time getting to know her and liking her at first. But not her long term partner Tatum. He's had his moments of disbelief when she's been too blunt but he knows she's a darn good profiler.
And this is the finale. Finally Zoe will come face to face with her final case but one that is circling back. A murdered that has haunted and stalked her. But is she ready?
I liked Zoe in this one. I liked her struggle and seeing a few of the cracks in her. She is affected by the things she sees and experiences. The last book has to have some residual PTSD. It was a tough case with brutal outcomes. I liked feeling like there was a solid conclusion with information about all parties involved.
But the actual subject matter was pretty gross. I've been pretty okay with most things but the main theme of this one was especially gross.
A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

Good ending to the trilogy. Maybe even the best of the three.

This was more of a 3.5 really. I did enjoy it a lot - especially for the first 50/60% - but it just didn’t have me quite as hooked as the first two so I feel like I can’t justify the same rating. I felt the ending really lacked something as well - both in terms of the actual final scene of the book, as well as the big climax to the crime. Overall this series has been fantastic though and i’ll certainly be picking up whatever the author does next.

This was a great read! Very well done and interesting! Zoe and Tatum are after Rod Glover again and this time he is working with another killer so it changes the dynamics as they are trying to track them both down and figure out what is going on. This story had me engaged from beginning to end and it flowed smoothly. It has a lot going on but it didn’t feel jumbled or like too much, beyond trying to put the different pieces together to figure it out all out. Plenty of twists as well. Can’t wait to see if there are more Zoe Bentley mysteries and hope there are.
The narrator did a great job with the characters and bringing them to life!
