My first kraken read and boy oh boy did Elle M Drew make use of those tentacles!

Lily and Fisk connect on the Kis-Meet dating app and opt to spend the weekend together. Little does Lily know that the app finds one's fated mate. These two have a sex-filled weekend including shenanigans both in and out of the water.

Fisk worries that Lily will bolt once she learns of the other half of his identity. Without giving too much away, those tentacles can be very persuasive!

Per the author's note, this novella includes:
Biting
Choking (consensual)
Stuffing and stretching
Light bondage
C*ck warming
Orgasms and orgasm overload
Begging
Bruising
Did I mention the tentacles?

Holy freaking freak.

I’ve been in a reading slump for weeks. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get into this because of it. But holy

Insta-love/fated mates, third person POV, monster (sea monster), fantasy, curvy FMC, questionable self-preservation FMC...

I am struggling to review this book. Everything happens so quickly, even for novella with insta-love/fated mates mixed in. So some rapid fire thoughts:
  • writing was fine, but the author could really use a little work shopping to describe things differently if going to repeat the same sentiment multiple times.
The FMC was empty, so empty, till she was full with the MMC. There are other ways to describe the longing and desire other than constantly empty FMC
    .
  • he's a fucking octopus... sorry a sea monster/kraken (don't want to offend the MMC)
. It's this big reveal and takes up 80+% of the book and than it all happens so fast, and everything is accepted, moved on, next spicy scene please. NO, I was still WTFing at some of the world building and how it all worked. Give me a paragraph or two and I'd probably be ready.
  • It didn't end. Like wham bam what a wild weekend for the FMC and MMC, but it didn't end. Not even a fade to sunset style or any such indication.
