I am Done

With the book, done with the characters, with the series and probably with Jennifer Probst.
This doesn't happen with me very often. Never when it comes to romance novels since they're no brainers and effortless reads, but I don't think I can take a single more word of this author. It's not just this book's fault, but all the books combined. They're basically the same! This is the 4th Jennifer Probst book that I'm reading, and I can tell you the pattern of how every story will go.
This is how they go: (This part is only a spoiler if you haven't read any of this author's books. If you've even read one. you're okay.)
Step 1: The two main characters don't like each other but are attracted to each other. Because, apparently, you can't have a romance novel is the protagonists don't want to rip each other's clothes off.
Step 2: Due to some situation, they're forced to be together. And they somehow kiss.
Step 3: One character, most probably the female, pushes the other away.
Step 4: After a lot of pushing and pulling and we-need-to-be-professional bullshit, they sleep together.
Step 5: They fall in love with each other.
Step 6: One person admits his/her feelings to the other who, because of some traumatic past which either makes him/her not feel good enough or afraid of commitment, throws it in the person's face.
Step 7: Both are heartbroken but then something makes the guilty party realize that he/she was wrong.
Step 8: After apology and forgiveness, they live happily every after.
(There are exceptions. Like Searching for Perfect doesn't follow step 1.)
The other flaws:
1. The writing is nothing to fawn over. It's okay, sometimes even bad. It is very repetitive. If I ever have to read words like screamed or roared so many times again, I will stab someone.
2. The characters can be interesting but sometimes they also piss me off. The similar plot works against them.
3. Nothing surprizes me. It's all just same old, same old, boring stuff and I just don't want to read any more.
4. I couldn't get over the spell-book thing. It was so stupid! It was as if you can never find love if you don't do a magic spell! And the mother earth thing...

Now, I was almost okay with all the above issues (almost) but Maggie... She was so annoying! I didn't like her in the beginning and by the end of chapter 2, I hated her. I was so pissed off at her and the book that I skimmed through the next few chaper. I did a lot of fast forwarding and I was done with the book in about 3 hours.
The last straw was when one of the things I actually liked about the books was taken away. I liked that the person who messed up apologised and made up for being horrible. But this book skipped that step and, after that...

I definitely don't reccomend this book. Other books by this author are better but they're so similar that it becomes boring...

This was book was fun and easy to read. I loved the characters and how they interacted. This would definitely make a good beach read.

3.5 stars. This book was OK, cute, and easy to read. But it was very, very, predictable.

This one was only okay, compare to the other 2 of the serie. I absolutely loved the 1st book and liked the 3rd but in this one, the characters were less endearing in my opinion.
