I’ve planted my feet on Fijian earth and I intend to stay here until the last sunset . Why don’t you join me? Leave behind everything that didn’t work out!

This novel is about 6 women from Norway who live together on a cocoa plantation in Fiji following the death of husband of one of them. Each woman has her own unique life lived, challenges they are facing with family, money or situations and are looking for a change in their twilight years where they can focus on themselves, let loose a little bit and enjoy some Fijian sun. The chapters alternate between the differing points of view of the women along with the prayers of the Fijian housekeeper.

The story gives a great insight into each woman's past lives and living present, and I found myself caring for each of them by the end but in very different ways.
