Kiki Kallira is an exceptional middle grade protagonist. She has a fantastic imagination, is a talented artist, and she's developing some awareness and strategies to deal with her anxiety issues. When Kiki's sketchbook world is brought to life and she is swept inside, adventures ensue and Kiki is forced to face monsters both internal and external.

Was really excited to see a book mention my home state of Karnataka. The main character has anxiety and draws to calm herself, and has a super supportive parent and its just so nice to see that in an Indian family dynamic

Cute story and fun world! The narrator had a really endearing voice but it was obvious they pinched their nose to diversify some of the character voices and that REALLY annoyed me. I enjoyed Kiki's anxiety (lol). It was refreshing to see it written so plainly and to recognize pieces of myself in this little girl.
