After the pain of the previous volume, this one is pure joy.
Mo Ran has finally become the person he is meant to be. Where previously there was a clear imbalance between Mo Ran and Chu Wanning, both in age (if we discount Mo Ran's rebirth) and actual power, now they are finally equal. So from both of them we get a lot of pining and a lot of horniness. The sexual attraction is so mutual and so intrinsically tied up in the love they have for each other, that it was a joy to read, where I would usually expect not to like it.
While it's true that not much happens with the plot in this volume, you gotta remember that the divide into volumes is arbitrary, since it's actually one continuous story and each chapter flows into the next. So this part is a much needed breath of fresh air after what we've been through already and before what we presumably will see next. Also, you know, the relationship is the central part of this whole book, and we see a lot of its development here. Because the characters are who they are, this development must be internal before it gets external.

There is almost no external plot in here, it focuses on character development.
The plot points are:
Chu Wanning wakes up, reunions.
Wanning and Mo Ran go farming.
Then they go to a wedding with some others.
That's it.
I tend to like my books with some more plot points. There were a lot of cute scenes though.
