FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!
I'm going to be honest here, Delphi has not been my favorite DiCarlo sister. I've found her to be too aloof and stand-offish for every book prior to this one. Learning more about her didn't change that.
I didn't understand why she wouldn't talk to her family about anything. Even her "rich chick" background didn't explain it away. It did explain some of her actions and natures, but it all came across as a major bout of rebelling. She even wanted to keep her relationship with Jeremy under wraps!
Jeremy, though, was a completely different nut to crack. I actually really liked him! He went from rebelling against George's machinations, to actually embracing them, and we got to see that journey. I felt it was a little fast paced, when it came to actually falling for Delphi, but it was somewhat logical.
The "suspense" plot was very weak, and didn't feel well planned out at all. It really felt like it was more of an afterthought than anything else.
On the whole, for me, this was a weaker link in the series, but I'm hoping the final sister's book will be better!
