I had this book in my library for a long time. I bought it when I started reading Ednah's YA books (Runes and Guardians series), why I haven't read it sooner? No idea. There was always another book that got my attention.
I have to admit: the first 50ish pages didn't really sell the book to me. I struggled to get the feeling of the book, but as I am a stubborn person and just hate leaving books half read (even at school I was reading all of them, when they were boring LOL). I stuck with it and I am glad that I did. The book is interested, we have 2 main characters: an artist that had a tragic accident when she was 15 and lost two most important people in her life and a sexy playboy, who's father was involved in the accident 10 years ago.
Ashley, the main female protagonist is an artist who paints erotic acts (sexy as hell straight away!), who doesn't remember what happened 10 years ago when her parents tried to purchase property, Calyle Mansion. She wants to buy it and hopefully put the past where it belongs: in the past. But then she meets, Ronald Noble. Sexy, flirtatious rich man, who wants to reveal the truth behind the accident, where as rumours say, his father was responsible for. He is trying to get close to Ashley and make her remember this traumatic event, even if he will have to seduce her. But what they both haven't thought about are lust and passion they feel straight away.
The characters are well developed, but I have to admit I didn't like that the bad guys are revealed so early. I was expecting more intrigue there and more gasping moments.
The book is not the best from the author, but I will read the rest of the series as they seem to be interesting.
Strong 4 stars as for me.

Romantic suspense. The mystery was great. The romance was a little confusing. But all in all a good read from a new to me author. I will be checking out Ms. Walters backlist.

This was my first read by this author so I didn't know what to expect. The story was beautifully written and it enfolded just enough to keep you riveted on what was coming next. The characters had nice chemistry and I definitely liked the artist angle. It showed a lot of passion through out the book. When you get a bunch of rich artsy people together and throw in actresses and artists, well it fans the flame. This s a great rainy day read, once you divest into it, it was hard to put down.

I really wanted to like this book. I really did. I loved Kiss Me Crazy and the characters that I read there, so I purchased the first two books in the series. Honestly, had I read this book or Slow Burn first I would not have read Kiss Me Crazy. The book was just too much for me to take in...too much going on and too long to get there.
(I'll be leaving a duplicate of review for Slow Burn)

I loved Slow Burn! It has equally enough passion, suspense, mystery, and sexual tension. E.B. Walters has a way of writing the story to make you feel a part of it. I smiled with each sexual banter between Ashley and Ron and was on the edge of my seat with every dangerous action.
All the characters are strong and everything flowed really well. I had a hard time putting my Kindle down. I wanted to find out who was behind everything and why. Towards the end I pretty much figured out who was behind everything but then E.B. surprises me. I love it when authors do that.
Slow Burn is HOT (pun intended) and I recommend it to everyone 18 and older!

For ten years Ron Noble has trying to escape the rumors surrounding his father's death and hand in a suspicious fire leaving two others dead. When mysterious notes begin to appear, Ron begins to question everything he knows and he knows the one person he needs to get the answers from, Ashley Fitzgerald.
Ashley stills has nightmares about the fire that took her parents lives, only sixteen at the time she has withdrawn into herself and her art. When she receives a call from Ron wanting a portrait done of his grandmother, she has no idea who he really is. The chemistry between the infuriating man who is trying to find out what she remembers is off the charts. When it seems the other people who can solve the mystery of what really happened begin to disappear, Ron feels even more protective of Ashley who is quickly burrowing her way into his heart.
Excellent first book in the Fitzgerald Family series. The mistaken introduction between Ron and Ashley is hilarious, what a way to pull you in from the beginning. Plenty of Fitzgerald's milling about in this story, I was entertained the whole time.
