I loved "Wrong Place, Wrong Time" so much I immediately found this one at the library and read it next. It was... not as good. Such a disappointment! A much more average "psychological thriller" style story, which dragged in a lot of places.

I adored this book. Wow Gillian is such an incredible writer. This was such a complex book. I loved Izzy as a character she was so human, so real. The murderer reveal shocked me, but it was also cathartic. I really enjoyed this book and I’m sad it ended. But wow I loved the ending

I really like the way this author approaches domestic thriller. She looks at the crime and criminal with judgement and compassion. I love that her books while so full of twist and turns are not overly dramatic and she gives space to some internal explorations by main character. That said this book is not my favourite by her. It does touch on the fact how justice system is flawed but it does it from point of view of someone that trusts in the system. If you by default don't trust the police it will be a little annoying to listen to main character being silly. 🤣
