The final book in the second Warriors arc. Brook and Stormfur refuse to return to the Tribe of Rushing Water and won't say why. Firestar finally admits that Graystripe won't be returning and appoints Brambleclaw as deputy. Some cats disagree with the choice because he has not had an apprentice but the debate stops when Firestar states that Berrykit will be his apprentice when he is of age. Leafpool is distressed when she can't find Cinderpelt in Starclan. Fox traps have been set in the forest and two Thunderclan cats fall victim to them.

So, this one pisses me off because it makes me hate Brambleclaw a little. Yeah, he saved Firestar and killed Hawkfrost but it took him SO long to do it and he basically sat there and thought about it. If I were Firestar I wouldnt have trusted him after that. Like bitch, you sat and made eye contact while I knew you were considering killing me or letting me get killed?

Also, Daisy is annoying as shit.

Also, I WANT GREYSTRIPE BACK RIGHT NOW.

What a conclusion to this cycle of warrior books! While I love the original arc I always found the last book and the conflict with Tigerstar and Bloodclan extremely underwhelming. The last 30 pages had me on the edge of my seat. It helped me realize that even though the big bad of this series is cartoonishly evil the Erins seeded this conclusion so well. I am so invested in Brambleclaw now and cannot wait to get back to his story (hopefully in the next series?) If you made it through the book 3-4 slog push to the end the payoff is the most satisfying of the Warriors books I have read so far.
