A pretty OK book about a girl who is TOTALLY in her book (same girl, same) and gets interrupted by the most wonderful things. Aliens, pirates, and more. They all try to have the girl participate in whatever silly and wonderful adventure they have concocted but the girl is adamant. She is not moving her butt until she finished this SUPER AWESOME book. I loved that despite the lure of all those amazing things she stuck to her book. Good girl, I would have done the same.. though maybe also be tempted, not sure yet. It really depends on the book. I did think it was very magical that the world was this fantastical outside of books and I was wondering if this was her imagination instead calling for her to do something else.
The ending was fun. Haha, girl, well you got them to do this. :P
The art was just a delight, truly a delight. I love the style of it and I love how the characters were drawn. Plus there were so many details that at times I just took a small break from reading to check out the gorgeous pages.

The joy of reading and sometimes adventures can wait until after books and tea.

My son was not the biggest fan of this book but he could relate to the main character.
