Too heavy going

Sapolsky would be an awesome stand up comedian, he has amazing one-liners. 
He's also incredibly careful in his writing and constantly challenges our expectations.
Loved this book, would read again.

This was so good. Sapolsky thoroughly impressed me with his ability to write such a long, dense, often jargon filled book that never once felt like a chore to read. There is an incredible amount of information packed into this book, and my only critique is that there were still a few(and I do mean just a few) things where I kind of had to read for a little while before it all really clicked. But, it did eventually click. You definitely can’t skip the primers in the back if you don’t already have pretty solid knowledge on the subject already. 

This book was good, but boy was it long. It definitely feels like a better book to read than listen to because there was so much science that sometimes it was hard to keep up. Otherwise, I think this book was informative and interesting, but it was sort of bland. Kind of just stating facts and studies, many of which were really interesting, and I think the way the info was organized was good, but it didn't leave much of an impact. I think the book lacked some conviction, which made it somewhat boring to read despite the fascinating nature of the science presented. Either way, it was informative and compelling, it just needed a little more oomph for me.
