This was a short book about Shaqiulle O'Neal as a youngster. I am guessing there may be other books coming??? In this book Shaq learns something about sharing the ball and also about working together with his cousin Barry to raise money. Simple...but for my younger 2nd and 3rd grade readers it might be a good fit.

Author and retired basketball star Shaquille O'Neal reminds us again that he is a man of many talents. In this latest installment of Little Shaq, Little Shaq practices problem solving skills and takes on more responsibility as the "Star of the Week" in his classroom. Will he be able to prove to his parents that he's responsible enough to become a pet owner?
Highly recommended for independent readers journeying into chapter books. Text is simple enough to read independently, but still reflects complex ideas like responsibility and cooperation. Large, bright illustrations break up the text and will reaffirm reluctant readers.
I received this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Little Shaq will certainly appeal to some younger children who aren't fond of reading and prefer sports and sports stories. However, this book serves far too didactic a purpose to convince me that children will genuinely enjoy this book.
