I loved "Phantom Limbs." I would rate this 5 stars if I could. Not only is it perfectly encapsulates grief, but it shows grief pushing 2 people apart, and than together again. Only nocked of one star because I didn't really like the end but it was still so good.

I don't know. I had high hopes for this. I did appreciate the genuine feel to the teenage boy's POV. But it felt so overwrought. It felt like story wise there was a lot of build up for not a lot of payoff. I could tell I was supposed to be emotional but I just wasn't.

A solid 4.5 stars book. I really liked this one and will definitely be recommending it to my young adult and adult readers alike.
One of the few books I've read about that incorporates amputees and the demons they face via PTSD, depression, and phantom limb syndrome.
But it is also a story about friendship, forgiveness, and moving on. Very poignant and refreshing.

This book was awesome. It has the perfect mixture of love, grief, heart-ache, family, friendship, fun, romance and swimming. And it was beautifully written. Loved it!

3.5 Stars. another solid contemporary, but something was missing for me to *really* enjoy it. I did love the emphasis on friendship, though.

This book was absolutely a heartwarming story all the way around! I enjoyed getting to know each of these characters during the journey through the book. While I was reading this book I felt like I could relate to the main characters the entire time. My heart broke for our narrator when we found out something had happened before the events of this book. The reason I rated it four stars is because I’m epileptic and when the author wrote something into the book making fun of a seizure I really didn’t know what to think. Otherwise I loved this one sitting wonder all the way through!
