this is exactly the pacing series needs.

not a chapter wasted, no endless info dumping or internal monologuing. i was totally riveted through the whole book, racing to the next page to find out what would happen to Ava and Torin.

some things were a bit predictable but not everything, and it was still enjoyable. i love Ava and Torin so much. C.N. Crawford did an excellent job on this duology, and i'll definitely be checking out some of her other books.
