I loved reading the first book which introduced Evie and Ed, and how they both came to own (and work) at the Beach Café that was left by Evie's aunt after her sudden passing. This book continued on from that point, in which Evie decides to host Christmas at her home, inviting her recently-divorced sister Ruth, and her three children (Isabel, Hugo, and Thea). At the beginning of the book, Ed and his mother, Victoria, are dealing with the death of their beloved father and husband, Michael. Ed then decides to spend Christmas in London with Victoria, while Evie is left to host her sister's family. With a variety of sub-plots taking place in the book, such as finding a dog named Bella, and Ruth's change-of-heart towards her ex-husband Tim, this book kept me intrigued from the beginning until the end. I loved reading about the relationship between Evie and Ed, which gave me hope for a bright future between the two of them, despite them not being able to spend some of the Christmas season together. There were some surprises which I was happy to read about, and would love to read more about in a sequel or two in the near future!

It's a really easy read and I guess it was cute. But the writing just had no feeling so it was pretty lacklustre overall.

I listened to the Beach Cafe series on audio but missed Book 1 from the series. I went into it apprehensive that I might not get the context. But it didn't matter all that much. Books 2-3-4 in the series are funny, romantic and cozy stories with enough back story for me to understand the characters and general plot.
I would recommend these for a nice, quiet day in or something quick for when you're in the mood for a light hearted read.

Lämminhenkinen ja iloa täynnä oleva tarina rantakahvilasta. Valitettavasti tässä oli jopa lajityypilleen turhan paljon stereotyyppisyyttä ja muita epäaitouksia.
