Such a good book! Ben’s life is thrown upside down when he finds out one night experimenting turns into him becoming a father. Now he has to deal with everyone talking about how a gay guy got a girl pregnant, while also working to make sure he is the best dad he can be. Through the pregnancy Ben learns more than just how to take care of a child, he learns what it means to be a parent, even if that picture isn’t what he always thought it would be. I really enjoyed this story and think you should keep it on your radar for it’s August 22nd release date!

Thank you NetGalley and Wednesday Books for providing me with an ARC.

This story is cute though very predictable. I think I'm a little too old for it though as I find the characters really frustrating and annoying (though acting very appropriately for their age). I also am not too much of a fan of Gio's romantic relationship with Ben. Throughout the book, his attitude towards Ben comes off as very brotherly and him kissing Ben and saying he has feelings for him felt very out of left field.

Many a tear was shed during the reading of this book!
But seriously this was a unique story with a lot of heart and so much pain and passion and emotion. I sobbed for the entire last 25% of the book and I loved every minute of it.
There was good representation in the book including several LGBTQ+ characters, a biracial couple, and adoptive parents etc.
The overarching theme of the book is that family is more than blood and I found that to be included throughout the book in a great way and I was very happy with how everything played out.
I highly recommend this book, it's seriously so sweet and heartwarming - it does deal with some tough situations but it handles them so beautifully.

** I read an advance reader copy of this book that I won through a Goodreads giveaway. **

While I'm not entirely sure about the premise (how many 16 year old gay boys actually sleep with their female best friends in order to determine whether or not they are gay????), the story was very well done! The questions the main character asked himself about being a father and the decisions he made felt very realistic for a teen father-to-be and the struggles felt very real.

I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley. I did not read a synopsis before beginning the book, so I had no idea what I was getting into.
I loved it. Ben and Maxie made a decision that will have lasting consequences for them, and we get to follow along as they make the decisions on how to handle the situation. An unexpected baby conceived out of an experiment of curiosity between friends leads to two teenagers being faced with a tough decision: being a single, gay teen parent for Ben or choosing adoption for the baby.
This book brought out so many emotions in me. I laughed, I gasped, I cried. There were parts of the book that I was angry at the main character, Ben, because of how immature he was acting, but then I remembers that he is a child and should be immature in his decisions. Maxie seemed to be an afterthought for much of the book, which I didn't love because she is dealing with just as much as Ben. She deserved to be cared for better by Ben and her family.

This novel truly pulls on the heartstrings and as the title suggests, centers around characters in a situation that wasnt exactly expected. My favorite thing about this story was not only the individual character growth and development and the way they all came together to create found family, but also the way it parrallels the realities that teens often find themselves facing in the world where sometimes support and care comes from places you don't always consider.

This is quite the rollercoaster of emotions. From page one you are thrown into a teen who just wants to do the right thing. Though the whole book you are feeling the emotions of trying to be a person you don't know you want to be.
The ending felt like it was earned and I really loved that the author didn't force a normally happily ever after.

*Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review*. The book was an interesting tale of teen pregnancy. It felt like an twist on the movie Juno. The author does a good job conveying the physical and mental struggle a teen goes through when faced with an unexpected pregnancy, the roller coaster of it all, and how it affects a whole family. The social stigma of it. The one thing I really struggled with in the book though was Benjamin's reaction. It took till almost 3/4 of the book before we figure out his reason why he was determined to go with raining this baby, and the reason seemed really out of left field. There wasn't a whole lot leading up to it. I wet back to flip through to see if I missed anything but found a couple of vague hints, but that was it. That's my one hang up without giving it away. All in all though it was a pretty good book.
