Apparently I have a thing for damaged heros/heroines and heros with accents. Speaking of which, Levi’s is so prominent. This book definitely focused on their development as not only a couple but also as separate individuals.
Things I liked:
- the “spicy” scenes. They were definitely used to evolve Levi and Elsie’s relationship which I appreciated!!
-the poetry. i loved it so much, and it was so beautiful
Things I didn’t like:
-the dialogue. Sometimes it seemed a bit over the top, kind of cheesy. To many sentimental sentences to the point it seemed unrealistic 😅 (you’ll understand)
-long chapters
Disclaimer:
This didn’t bother me but I figured some people would like to know. This book is quite sad. Not in the had me balling my eyes out way, but in the there isn’t a lot of development in the characters lives, it’s more them coming to terms with what they went through.

“She understood. With few words, and little explanation, I knew Elsie understood me.”
“She was becoming my girl.”
“I may have been shaking with nerves inside, but this girl deserved to hear how beautiful I really thought she was.”
