This is a strange story about growth and how choices and choosing not to make a choice reflect our life's paths. There are closed door romantic scenes, but the story isn't intended to be a happily ever after romance with neat little bows.

I really enjoyed that the ending left possibilities of happiness for the two main characters and didn't force the romantic happy ending on the reader.

It was a weird style of writing, but overall, it had a good ending centered on personal growth and making important life choices.
A hopeful epilogue 🌈 ⛱️

I'm not even quite sure why I finished this one. I was not invested in the characters, and I never found that Josh was likeable enough to "feel sorry for him" and the decision he was making. I only finished it to see what choice he made. I also didn't find Emmy to be a super sympathetic character. Overall, it just wasn't for me. I loved Dave's Eight Hundred Grapes from later in her career, but this one just didn't do it for me.
