Sometimes I read a book and I can picture the author sitting in front of several mason jars, each filled with scraps of paper. One is labeled Hero, one is Heroine, one is labeled How They Met, another labeled Problems. And this is one of those books. Unfortunately I felt like she pulled out the scraps of paper and wrote up a quick book around them. The plot was formulaic and I felt nothing for the characters. Sadly, I suspect I'll have forgotten the whole thing within days of reading it.
And sheesh.... the divine retribution for one of the *evil* characters was really heavy handed.
Themes: prison, insider trading, attorney, surprise baby, cancer

Gray and Layla, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
These two were just WOW!!!!!! They met in a very inconvenient place but fast forward couple years and he returns for her. Trust me Layla did NOT make it easy for him but Gray wasn’t backing down. He finally wore her down and they still took it slow but when that was thrown out the window talk about smoking hot!!!!! There was a hiccup that made my heart hurt because I thought it was almost the end of them but nope meddling people that love them brought them back together. I want more of them!!!!

From start to finish I was hooked, I just love and adore Vi Keeland and her stories!
Twists and turns around every corner, characters you'll fall in love with, plenty of sweet and sexy moments, angsty ones too, definitely a story I recommend diving into.
Loved every minute of it!

I expected Gray to be a cutthroat alpha. Although he was alpha, he was actually kind of sweet. It was Layla who was a bit witchy.
The book is full of surprises, from how Gray and Layla met to a blast from Gray’s past.
Quibbles:
-No way would Layla have taken a venti coffee into a major presentation in front of a senior partner of her firm.
-___ and ___ wouldn’t have been caught dead on the subway.
-Two characters with almost the same name? Really?
Honestly, I normally LOVE Vi Keeland’s books. This one I just enjoyed.

Loved the premise of the book and thought we were going to get hotter tibits from Grey and Layla's past. Everything I loved about the book was about the promise of it : the story, the characters, and it all just kind of fell flat. The dialogue was very Vi Keeland (a good thing, she does have a way with snark) and she's really good at turning up the heat (not so good at following it through with the sex scene itself).
In itself, the book was more than fine. It just sucked that it seemed to be an even sadder copy than Stuck-Up Suit. It started with a more interesting premise than the latterand I really did not expect the old girlfriend to come back with the baggage she carried . And while some aspects were different in what happened, it still streamlined as the same as Stuck-Up Suit. Words of advice : do not read both on top of one another.

I have fallen hard for Gray. He is charming and sexy and knows what he wants. I love these qualities. He definitely won me over. This story was sweet and everything I wanted in a romance. I definitely have a soft spot for second chance romances and this one cemented itself in my top favorites. I laughed and got frustrated with the characters. I swooned. I loved every minute of this story and I can't wait to see what Vi bring's us next.

The book is not bad and I was enjoying it until maybe 60% of the book, after you have the twist it felt like a copy of Stuck up suit, another of her books, so I it felt very predictable
