Carter Brook's heart was token when his fiance Delilah died in an accident he felt responsible for. He vowed not to ever give his heart again. The pain of loss was just too great for him. When he met Sahara Jones, he felt that pull but refused to give in to his feelings but she knew that they were destined to be. When she came with news that would change both of their lives she refused to succumb to his pressure if a loveless arranged marriage until he jyst about blackmailed her. He wanted to make sure that she and their family would be protected. Wen Sahara actually realized his actions spoke louder than words, it was easier for Carter to let go and give Zahara his heart and live for all of eternity.
