Grant Snider didn't aim to make this book look like an answer to the problems creative minds face everyday. Instead he lets the reader take a glimpse of his own personal creative process to give some insight into the joys and the pitfalls of creativity, hoping that it encourages the readers in their search for ideas.

"Do you sometimes feel guilty for seeking creative ideas at the expense of personal relationships or professional success? Do you dream of one day discovering a bottomless well of creativity, so you will never search in desperation for a new idea? Do you occasionally fantasize about giving up the search for ideas altogether and living a life of blissful noncreativity? Do you fear that one day there might not be another idea?
This book will not help you solve these problems. And that bottomless well of creativity? It doesn't exist.
But do not despair. Every comic in this book was once a blank page. (Perhaps one or two should have stayed that way.) Since T began drawing Incidental Comics way back in 2009, my goal has been to create at least one full-page comic strip per week. I often keep a sketchbook with me to capture stray ideas that float by. Most mornings before work I guzzle coffee, sit at my drawing table, and try to shape these unformed ideas into something worth showing the world."
- Grant Snider in the foreword

I found, however, never having read him before, that it seemed a little much to have it all at once, that yes, I get what you are saying, and what you said three pages ago, and yes you were amusing, but what a long book of cartoons. There were a few that I laughed at, or felt the pain of.
Would recommend this to be people who are fans, or become fans after visiting the site.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

Not as inspiring as I was looking for. I did really enjoy the art style and there were some funny “just artist things” that I enjoyed. I liked the humor and art, but felt that this was slightly misadvertized.

A truly unique book with lots of great ideas and beautiful illustrations. I have never seen any work of author [a:Grant Snider|5198410|Grant Snider|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1498058591p2/5198410.jpg] before. I went to reading this without too much expectations. But it was too good for the first time read of the author.
The books has been divided into 10 different categories: Inspiration, Perspiration, Improvisation, Aspiration, Contemplation, Exploration, Daily frustration, Imitation, Desperation and Pure Elation. Each part has its own set of comics to illustrate ideas. My favourite was The nature of ambition under Aspiration.
Each concept has been depicted very clearly and cleverly. This is really an inspirational book for all the creative people. They can get very much from it. The illustrations are too effective and they got you thinking that even illustrations can be so effective.
