I always like the Bones books and this one was pretty good. I was a little disappointed in the ending as it felt rushed and left me questioning where exactly we went on this journey. I would also appreciate more Ryan/Tempe time, because that is always good. I will keep reading!

Meh. Was pretty boring and I felt my mind wandering so many times. I know this book was written in the early aughts, and was mostly around the Carolina states, but there were some uncomfortable fat phobic, homophobic and transphobic undertones that just made me tune out completely.

A very different Temperance Brennan than the one you see on TV. Same old forensic work with the M.E. being targeted by psycho. Soso mystery. New twist was that the daughter being targeted now too. Disappointing that this was not the Temperance Brennan that we love.

My teen picked up this audio book in the juvenile section of our public library branch ... really?? We'll give it a try, but I might have to tell the librarian that it's not a children's book.

"Caution" is not in Dr. Brennan's vocabulary... neither is "tact" or "anger management".

plot: Tempe and Ryan are going om vacation together. That is until she gets dragged into a new case. With suspicions stuff happening tracking back to a long history of crimes. She has to uncover the story all while having time to get away with Ryan.
opinion: This book was great. I love the relationship between Tempe and Ryan. The case was also fun to follow. Creepy at times, which is nothing new for this series.

I liked this one more than the last one I read in this series. I was more interested in the mystery, it seems.

(3 1/2 stars) ⭐️ — Suspense/thriller/mystery = Egh. I blame my brain. Maybe I just couldn’t wrap it around all the things going on. — LOVED the development of Tempe + Ryan’s relationship. Neat tweak heading in the wildlife direction. As always, really like the descriptions involved in world building. I’ve never been to the South but Reichs’ books make me want to.
