I received a free ARC copy in exchange for a honest review.
Ian Manning is another member of the brotherhood from the M.E.D.I.C.S. series. This story seems to be running concurrently with Matthis and even though it is included under the M.E.D.I.C.S. banner, it can be read without having read the others. They each have a happily ever after. These stories present the friendship of the men from this group of soldiers as a tight brotherhood.
Ian has a lot of stressors in his life. He is engaged to be married in 3 months, he is a middle manager in a company that employs many veterans, suicides and illnesses surround him, he feels the unintentional guilt from his mother because Ian enlisted to honor his brother who was killed in action, oh and he was found to have precancerous prostate cells.
As someone who has had cancer hit their family, Pandora Snow does a good job conveying the intrusion that is caused by the disease. I truly was worried as if Ian is a part of the family. It is almost painful to read.
The love that Sarah has for Ian is very evident through her calm and leveling actions and words. She loves him and shows him. Ian's character needs to learn to let others around him be strong when he can't be and he has strong people around him to teach him.
As with the entire series Cyrus who is the center of the next book figures into this story and leaves the reader wondering what's his story?
