While reading this book, I found myself wondering about how the ending would turn out. But that's usual when reading any type of story. But as I got closer to the ending of this particular one, I was scared. See, there were only about ten pages left and the story line wasn't going ANYWHERE. So I was scared that it would leave me on another cliffhanger. But it didn't and that is the problem that I had with this book. The ending was so abrupt and quite stupid actually. The author wrote two whole books before this for a major buildup and then the ending was nothing. It was sentimental I'll give it that, but it was stupid. Anyways, other than that I found it to be the best book in the whole series. Too bad it had to be the crappy ending. ;)

This week is apparently the week of finishing series (and I'm not even doing #ayearathon) and it took me a good year or so to finally finish this one. I'm glad that I picked up this series and I will be reading any other books that Jessica Verday writes.
A lot of people did not care for the ending of the series (no spoilers here, don't worry), however, I loved it. The ending connected all of the other novels together and it was not at all disappointing for me.
As always I loved the main character Abbey, and Caspian the ghost she is in love with (not at all instant-love) and I enjoyed their love story even more in the last novel.
There was a great mix of regular life (school and perfume making) and action in the book, but I would have loved to see more about Abbey's perfume making, I just love that about her.
I recommend the whole Hollow series to readers that love Gothic tales and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

This book was amazing and I LOVED reading how the whole trilogy just comes together. All of my questions were answered and all the pieces to the puzzle fit together perfectly.
I do believe that this was the best book in this series. FINALLY!!! It was time for Caspian’s death day and we got to see how Abbey & Caspian had spent their time together. Ooooh La La:) I was so happy about this that it made me have butterflies in my stomach. It was achingly beautiful!
All secrets are revealed by the end of this book and I would have never guessed on any of them. I was happy with the ending, although, it was a little sad, I was still happy with it.
“You,” he whispered, bringing his hand to hover by my cheek.
“Are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”
And then he touched me.

Aw, i just finished this book, and i reaaaally liked it, from The Hollow to The Hidden, the story only got better. So, i read The Hollow a while ago and when i got The Haunted and The Hidden, i just couldn't wait to start. So, when i got to The Hidden i was caught up with the story, i couldn't put it down for a second, i wanted to know more. In the second book, yo get to see how Caspian and Abbey's relationship grows, in the last one it just gets stronger, and i loved that.
Well, the story is about Abbey, a girl who just lost her best friend and feels kind of lost, and Caspian, a mysterious boy who brings some sense of peace and happiness to Abbey from the very start. But things aren't that easy. So when Abbey finds out that everything she knows may not be as real or as normal as she thought it was, she finds herself feeling like she's going crazy, so she has to leave Sleepy Hollow. So, as soon as she gets back to town, she has this feeling of not fitting in, and she needs answers. When she finds Caspian, she feels complete again. She knows she loves him, as impossible as it may seem, she knows, and he loves her too, and being with him is the only way she feels safe and happy. As their relationship grows, so does the problems. So, when a big threat comes to town, she has to make a decision, to stay with the life she has and knows, or stay with the one she loves.
I loved the main characters of this story, Abbey is this girl who's been through so much, but manages to get herself back up with the help of Caspian, a boy who loves Abbey so very much, and you can see it. I thought this story was a lovely one, the way the author describe how the characters were feeling, through happy, sad, crazy or desperate times, she got it right. So, congrats :).

I have been such a fan of this series for such a long time that I didn’t want it to end, but at the same time I knew that all good things must come to an end eventually and The Hidden provided the end to the Hollow trilogy.
The book continues with the morose tones only in this one Abbey is even more down than usual and I found it to be really depressing. There were so many sad moments in The Hidden that it left me feeling a little sad. I barely even remember if there were laughable moments because there were so many sad times.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect from The Hidden in terms of the plot because the ending could have only gone two ways and I have to say that I'm really disappointed with the way that it did end. It just didn’t feel right to me. Without giving anything away, I feel like it disregarded a lot of people’s emotions and I just didn't like it really.
The introduction of a new character was really cool and I thought she seemed really interesting but I also felt that she didn’t get a lot of face time and not a lot of an explanation either. I mean, there was some explanation given about her, but I felt that her part in the story was a little underdone.
As much as I absolutely adored the first two books in the series I have to say I was a little disappointed in the third and final book. I still really loved Jessica Verday’s writing style and right up until the ending I was loving it. I just feel that the ending was a little drastic and not particularly to my taste. I guess I was just looking for a perfect ending that just couldn’t happen in a positive way.

This is the first trilogy, in a long time, that my first reaction upon finishing the last words was a "content" sigh, followed by realization and then denial (no, it can't be over, I want more).
I will not bother to individually comment on the books, other than to say that while the first book in the trilogy (The Hollow) was a little slow to begin with, Verday really did a fantastic job keeping me patient and in my seat; eager to know more about Abbey's world.
The great thing about this trilogy is that it doesn't pretend to be anything it's not.It doesn't promise the reader this focused and intense connection to Washington Irving's Sleepy Hollow. Yes, it takes place in the town of Sleepy Hollow; and certainly we have the main characters of the story (the headless horseman, Katy, and Ichabod Crane...or his descendant).
Now, don't get me wrong, the story isn't perfect, but I don't think it's meant to be. It was, finally, in The Hidden, that I got to see what was so great about Caspian. I`ll be honest, I didn't really like him all that much, but I was mostly indifferent. This book showed personality, humour that I got, and finally compassion that I could see, for his "Astrid"; for her life.
The Revs are a really interesting part of the story. They are kind of like angels and also kind of like reapers (I think Verday may have been watching a lot of Supernatural or Dead Like Me), but instead of defining them, she acknowledges they are beyond human comprehension. I vastly approve of this approach. As a professor, I disliked, repeated to me on several occasions:"You don't know what you don't know". And even if we do know, there's no guaranteeing we can comprehend at an appropriate level. This is a great way of acknowledging "the hidden", with an air of mystery and not trying to explain something that just is. I can accept that.
Even this idea of twin souls; yin and yang; soul mates-it's woven in a way where it is not a question of fate. Not all twin souls have to end up together. Like Washington Irving's mate did, you can move on. You can choose to live. And that was something I held onto.
I think the only reason I did not give this book five stars is because of this need to hold onto the idea of living. I did love Abbey and Casper (the friendly ghost) together, but I wanted her to be selfish and choose life. I desperately wanted her to move on, but then in came the changing of time and Kristen was in the mix and I knew. I knew that the complexity of the decision was totally beyond me. I don't think even I'd know what to do if I were in that situation.
Oh yes, and before I forget, that sex scene. Goddamn, it had ME blushing. That. Was. Hot. Multiple times? Hells yeah. Bathroom scene? YESSSS. Okay, okay. I am calm. It is rare when you get "good" sex in teen books. LOL.
Overall, I really enjoyed this trilogy by Jessica Verday. The books are not an emotional rollercoaster ride and they all lead to what you can expect--a bittersweet ending (which is a good thing, in this case). I wish I could have more to read, but my hopes are high for Verday to write another series instead.
Verdict: I sentence Jessica Verday to a day of watching Supernatural reruns (yay).

It read so fast! I couldn't put it down. I'm very sad about this series being over. :( I have a love/hate relationship with the ending as well.

So, I did it. I made it through till the bitter end. I hate to keep on ragging on Ms. Verday - but what was a trilogy here would have make a freaking awesome book. One book. Except for the ending - so unbelievable I felt cheated - still do in fact. Too bad really because I loved the love story between Abbey and Caspian.
Next book she writes I'll start reading in the middle to see if her sense of pace has improved.
