The back of the book says it's "Dramatic, erotic, hope-filled." This book was just rape scene after rape scene. Ton of incest and pedophilia too, do not read this book. I will never trust a random rec again

I actually couldn't finish this book. Couldn't even make it halfway. I tried really hard to just suffer through it, hoping against hope that it would get better, but it never did. I think it was a story that just tried too hard. The names of the characters were ridiculous (Daemon? Saetan? Surreal?!?! Seriously, there is a woman named Surreal. I should submit that to stfuparentsblog.com as a "yoonique" name.*roll eyes*). The concept of a matriarchal society, while commendable, is not well executed. Frankly, if we women did rule, I think it wouldn't be through physical chains, but psychological ones instead. And it is still clear that, despite women rulers, men still dominated in that society. Overall, it wasn't a story that gripped me. It felt contrived, as if it was trying to be a female version of the Game of Thrones series.

This world was so confusing, the writing wasn't good.  Too many characters and places with no explanation or set up.  Pedo character ew

the treatment of the young girl is gross. the treatment of basically everyone is over-the-top wrong. what's the story? where is this going? there's way to many POV characters and little development of their personality or storyline.

DNF'd at around 35%. I wanted to see if people felt the same as me ... take a look at some of the lower rated reviews and realize that nope I am not the only one!

It felt like someone who writes urban fantasy's first stab at trying to write an epic fantasy. The world-building with no map? C'mon. It took me so long to differentiate the female characters. And for a matriarchal society, it seems like the males still run things kind of. And the ring! Please stop, it's so bad.

Anyways, she still has some weird power of writing to get me to read until 35%. Maybe if the book was shorter I'd actually suffer through it.
