Second in the Argeneau series.
This was a very interesting and funny book, and I enjoyed every second reading it.
The first story in this series focused on the youngest child, Lissianna, and this is the story of her older brother Etienne.
Etienne has a problem, a man named Pudge, who has been attempting to kill him and in the process causing lots of problems, one of which being a woman named Rachel which Pudge just slammed an axe into her chest.
Rachel just wanted off the night shift at the hospital. Every night she examined dead bodies and put them away in the morgue. Now some crazy man has stumbled in and slammed an axe into her chest insisting the corpse on her table was a vampire. Imagine her surprise to wake up the next morning, healed and better than before, complete with a sexy man to take care of her.
Life just got a lot more complicated.

Second in the Argeneau paranormal romance series revolving around the Argeneau family.
My Take
Who says you can't meet nice guys at the morgue?
This was a very mild and cute love story involving a computer game designer and a forensic pathologist.
Definitely could use a proofreader here…
I did enjoy the comparison of the morgue world and that of the vampires as they realized their reasons matched in referring to "crispy critters" and "off the hoof". Definitely funny as the Argeneaus attempt to entice Rachel into acceptance.
The Story
Etienne has drawn a little too much attention to himself with his Blood Lust computer game. One computer geek, frustrated over Etienne's continual refusals to employ him, did some in-depth investigation and discovered Etienne's true nature. A nature over which Pudge is conflicted. Kill him or get Etienne to turn him before he releases him. Hmmmm, decisions, decisions.
It's those decisions that cause Etienne to cross Dr. Rachel Garrett's autopsy table twice and resulting in her needing some "vacation" while she copes with her new state and a life-changing decision about lying.
The Characters
Dr. Rachel Garrett has specialized in forensics and she's just learned she's getting promoted out of the night shift!,
Etienne Argeneau is one of Marguerite Argeneau's younger vampire sons. Bastien and Lucern are physical twins — their cerebral interests are quite different. We met Lissianna and Gregory in A Quick Bite. Lucian Argeneau is their uncle and the head of the clan. He's also a world-class jerk.
Pudge, a.k.a., Norman Renberger, has some issues with reality and fantasy.
Sylvia is Rachel's best friend. We get to hear about Sylvia's wet dreams quite a bit...she's gonna be so jealous when she hears about Rachel's "wet dreams"…
Lissiana's bridal shower is a lovely opportunity for Rachel to meet other vamps: Jeanne Louise and Mirabeau. Then there's Jeanne Louise's cheeky brother, Thomas.
The Cover and Title
The cover has a metallic sheen to it with a red border across the top with the author's name. The bottom four-fifths of the cover is of Etienne embracing Rachel from behind, nibbling on her neck while displaying her gleaming cleavage rising up from a black corset, a tasteful bat tattooed on her right breast.
The title could go one of two ways. Etienne and Rachel do get pretty physical teeth-wise with all their Love Bites. Then again, Etienne gets into all sorts of trouble as he attempts to woo Rachel and avoids mentioning certain urgent actions on her.

Oh this was fun. As for other reviewers who disliked one of the sex scenes because of the vampirism, I just have to say they should definitely never read the Night Huntress series. Ever.

This was so cheesy but strangely entertaining.
