Interesting overview of Jane Austen's life, her letters and her close bounds to her family.
I would have given it a higher note if not for the many typos and mistakes in the text.

beautiful to behold and charming to read, an enjoyable experience for any Austen fan, although I find myself longing for a collection of her letters that is a little more extensive

This beautiful book was gifted to me by my best friend for my birthday. From the gorgeous hardback cover to the illustrations within, this is a lovely piece for my Austen collection.
I liked that the letters weren't enclosed in full, as well as the helpful descriptions in the margins as this makes this collection of letters a perfect starter for those interestd in Austen's life beyond her books. This means a curious reader can pick up the book, flick through it and get a quick insight without needing to commit to a full letter.
Further, this gives the reader an insight into late 18th/early 19th century life. As someone with an avid interest in this era, I already know a lot about the fabrics, methods of travel and forms of entertainment that was provided in these years, but a lot of people wouldn't.
I love this book and I can't wait to have it on display for guests.

This was a nice Christmas gift, but somewhat boring. I liked learning about how Jane Austen lived and wrote.

I am overwhelmed. this could be the best book I've read this year. I'm so happy I got to read the letters in this edition specifically, I'm genuinely mourning that I finished it so I immediately bought her juvienalia

A lovely selection of Austen's letters with lovely historical illustrations, but also full of typos that could have been easily fixed in the editing process.
