Astonishing the Gods by Ben Okri

Wild, weird, and very religious. I think I'll probably end up reading this multiple times. A lot of the prose is really opaque, and heavily relies on visualizing what is described. Anyone with aphantasia will likely get little from this book, and anyone with a vivid visual imagination will find this a wild experience.

Just experienced a spiritual awakening, feel like my third eye has opened. The entire book is pure magic. Enchanting and divine. Underlined almost half of each page.
Is it better to speak or to die? - 'It is better to be invisible.'
The higher invisibility of the poet, of being known - 'the invisibility of the blessed.'
You can turn silence into anything, and yourself. The alphabet is hidden, until you write.
