Really enjoyed joining Delaney on another adventure! I listened to the audiobook, so please forgive me if I spell a characters name wrong (recommend the audio, love this narration). We get to learn more about the area from before Delaney arrived, and we are brought on an emotional roller coaster as we learn more about Hamlet and the deep love and connection between the employees at The a cracked Sline. The mystery itself was just as good as I have come to expect from this series, and the emotional hit had me pausing my reading to cry at some points.
Truly a wonderful addition to the series and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the next one.

In The Burning Pages we follow Delaney and Hamlet as they are invited to a mysterious Robert Burns dinner party that leads to a fatal fire and the potentially suspicious connections to Hamlet’s past. I really liked that we were able to learn more about Hamlet’s past and his connection to those at The Cracked Spine.
This has been my favorite in the series so far.

It all begins with a hidden document. A document that will change lives forever. When Delaney is invited to a dinner celebrating Robert Burns, she questions why... Then one of the guests is killed. Does it have anything to do with the paper she found? Quick read for the weekend.

The Burning Pages an entertaining and satisfying addition to the popular Scottish bookshop series. Paige Shelton is a writer I enjoy tremendously. Her books flow so naturally that her mysteries, while intricately woven, are also imminently readable. This one kept me guessing too. Delaney Nichols, originally from Kansas, is loving her idyllic new life in Edinburgh, Scotland. Still, she finds herself embroiled in a murder/arson investigation and must solve these and other much older mysteries tied to it to save her friend, Hamlet. Supported by a charming cast of Scottish characters in a beautiful (and bookish) setting, and overflowing with Robert Burns references, this one was hard to put down. I'm a sucker for books set in Scotland anyway, and I genuinely enjoyed this one so much. It was just the coziest of cozy mysteries. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the chance to read this ARC.

Wowzers! This is definitely my favorite of the series. Shelton did an amazing job with this one and left me wanting more.
With all the suspenseful build up in the last few chapters, I couldn’t put it down until I finished. With each new book, I enjoy the mysterious, deep dark secrets being uncovered -not only about Scotland, but the characters as well.
Aah- I just love this series so dang much! The setting, the characters, all the Scottish heritage.. uh, it is just amazing and each book has been better than the last. The Burning Pages is book 7 of A Scottish Bookshop Mystery and, even though it’s bittersweet to be all caught up on this series, I am very excited that the story continues with Fateful Words. (April 2023)
