What a fun book! We have a Bedbug Detective that comes to our libraries to check for bedbugs! It's a gross job, but somebody's gotta do it! I love the idea that the dogs who do this job are heroes! I really found this book to be entertaining, heart-warming, AND educational!

Good curriculum connection/Common Core selection about bed bugs. Barnaby is a dog who is trained to seek out bedbugs. He does his job, but the family doesn't treat him like the hero he knows he is. The author explains how bedbugs don't just live in dirty places. This lesson is then explained with factual information in the back of the book about bedbugs as well as within the text.

It's not going to have a lot of storytime appeal, but if a family is dealing with bedbugs this is a good, kid-friendly explanation.
