This was really fun to read. It really felt like just the beginning.

As many other reviews have mentioned, this story is old and tired Nora Roberts. Not a new idea in sight! I have read many of her books over the years but I hadn’t picked one up recently. I figured for old time sake, why not give her a try. The story was predictable, the characters unlikeable and unrelatable. The only character I actually liked was Riley and I wasn’t going to waste my time getting to the third book to read about her. I don’t even care what happens to these characters to pick up the next book. Both the mannerisms of the characters and the story arcs reminded me of trilogies of the past. I’m sorry but she either needs to get some new material or lay down her pen.

Nora Roberts really knows how to set-up a fast-paced supernatural trilogy full of romance, found family, and life or death stakes. The plot revolves around a quest to find three stars created by ancient goddesses, and an enemy who strives to take use their power to cover the universe in darkness. The cast includes a seer, a witch, a shifter, a time-traveler, a mermaid, and an immortal, each with their own motivations and bursting with character. Each book covers the search for one the the stars (fire, water, and ice), and the budding romance of three couples. Perfection.

Stars of Fortune, book 1 of The Guardians Trilogy series by Nora Roberts @norarobertsauthor. I needed a book starting with the letter “B” for my A-Z challenge & the 2nd book in this trilogy qualifies & you definitely need to read this series in order so I am re-reading this series. And gasp! Bonus! I needed a book starting with an author’s first name challenge & this worked for “N”. 😂
This was an amazing first book in this trilogy & I loved this book about Sasha & Bran. If you like MF, PNR (magic, seer, Lycan, immortal, time travel, mermaids) & Gods, then you will love this book.
