Quite honestly, this book isn’t what I expected. I read the back cover and assumed it would be very dragon centric high fantasy, but it seems to be more of a fantasy enemies-to-lovers romance. Just not really my thing. I can imagine that if you like romance and the trope and fantasy that you would like this though.

I can't tell if it was the pacing or the characters but I couldn't really get into this story.

The story should be interesting enough and it wasn't exactly a slog to get through but I didn't feel especially compelled to read another chapter or like I couldn't just put this down and walk away at any time. The way the world was set-up with an inclusive society was a nice touch but the romance didn't appeal to me - it didn't feel earned with how little time and how guarded both characters were.

I think there was potential here that the story just didn't quite reach but I can see how this would be a fun read regardless for the right reader.
