I think everyone can relate to the themes of this book, whether they have allergies or not, especially kids the target age range. This book really touches on trying to find a sense of belonging and a sense of identity when it just seems like everywhere you try pushes you out. The sense of frustration, sadness, and isolation here is palpable. I loved how there wasn't really a bully/antagonist, either. No one actively pushed Maggie out and no one intentionally excluded her - it's just easy to get lost in the crowd or unintentionally isolated by the things that make us different. I love the message of the book of not only trying to find new places and identities to belong to, but also opening your eyes to opportunities in front of you that you might not have noticed before. I think this book can offer hope to readers who feel disconnected and isolated, and offer valuable lessons about how to make sure we're not so wrapped up in our discouragement that we miss the opportunities for connection right in front of us.

An instant favorite & one of the most relatable graphic novels I've ever read!

This story featured so much more than allergies; themes of friendship, family, animal connections, and hope were all explored with stunning artwork!

A really sweet book about a girl who desperately wants a pet but finds out she is allergic.
