THIS IS SO COOL WHAT? HOW DID I NOT READ THIS SOONER?

PT: Riordan, books in a series, books that got me out of a reading slump, graphic novels, children's books

1) meme state master Riordan. It drives me mad honestly. How in the HECK-? Okay. Okay. Allow me to explain. Riordan writes a book, right? The Lightning Thief. It's pretty instantly well-received and becomes a best-seller. Awesome right? But why is that? Why is it so fantastically praised? What distinguishes it from the other bazillion YA books out there?
The answer is... a lot of things. BUT MOSTLY: meme states. This man, Señor Riordan, has the heckin magical capacity to generate UNIFORM meme states ACROSS DEMOGRAPHICS. And, and, how that connects to this? The meme states are *angled* and *colored* uniformly. Like, in terms of cinema, the direction is precisely what was written. This means that THIS BOOK is (almost) exactly the mental depiction that was going on while I read, down to angles of each photo and the lighting and coloration choices. Do you know what this means??? IT MEANS that I need to email my communicology professor again because this is bonkers.
AND ALSO: credit where credit is due! Señor Venditti is a master of capturing the ethereal meme states and putting them to paper. I MEAN HONESTLY.

2) I don't read graphic novels. I don't write that to say anything about my personality, but rather to address the sheer bonkers-ness of my 1) picking up this book 2) reading is and genuinely delighting in it and 3) really *wanting* to continue reading it. I haven't had that happen in too long.

3) character bias. Do I like this more because these are some of my comfort characters and I already know and love them? Maybe. But STILL

WIDL:
1) Read this as a digital book. Should've gotten a physical copy.

-it was ok-

If you want to get a good visual of the son of Neptune, read this, but the original is way better.

The story was pretty well done. They showed the main and important parts of the book. The artwork was nice and pretty detailed. It was interesting to see how I pictured things and to see some of those scenes put to paper.

I love graphic novels and the riordanverse so this was right to my taste. Wasn't the most interesting book in the series but I overall really enjoyed it

It cut way to much from the actual book. It left out some events that would help explain parts of the story.

There were some scenes that I feel should've been included. This is rated lower more for the fact that the characters look really odd to me. Most of them do not look like how they're described. The most accurate one is Nico.

The Heroes of Olympus adaptations were better than the PJO ones.  I really liked the art style, and the story was a bit better developed because there was a bit more length to these ones.
