Grab a mug of hot cocoa and a warm quilt and settle in for this delightful, sweet holiday romance!

Elaine Stock always writes wonderfully layered characters with stories that go beyond a surface level to the deeper parts of the heart. Christmas Love Year Round is no exception. Cami and Gavin have a painful history and while swoony Gavin with his twinkly eyes and big heart has forgiven Cami, she isn’t so ready to forgive herself. And neither is Gavin’s dad, who is still harboring bitterness toward Cami after all these years.

There is instant chemistry – and lots of sparks – between Gavin and Cami, despite the past that can’t quite be escaped. And some mighty fine kisses to boot. I’m still swooning a little. Add to the mix Cami’s little boy and Gavin’s adorable puppy, and there are plenty of opportunities for smiles too.

But at its heart, this story is about love. Not just romance, but the kind of love that doesn’t keep a record of wrongs. The kind of love that never fails. The kind of love that Christmas is centered around – and the kind of love we should hold in our hearts (and live out with our lives) year round. It’s a sweet message that Stock weaves naturally into the plot of the story and right to the heart.

Bottom Line: Hallmark movie fans, rejoice! This is exactly the kind of story I’d love to see on their movie lineup. Never saccharine though, Christmas Love Year Round paints an authentic picture of life and all its ups and downs but also wraps around readers with a sweet story of love and forgiveness. Great characters, a charming setting, and some fabulous kisses – what more could we ask for?
