This is the first book in the new series and for me is started off with a bang. I easily got lost in the book. One of my favorite things about this book is the humor. I found myself laughing quite often. I loved the ranch and Riley's family. A lot of the humor involves Riley's family. It makes you want to be part of them. Zoey and Riley have the true Vegas experience when they find themselves hitched. Though a little unconventional start for Riley and Zoey it leads to some thing potentially special. I'm really looking forward to more from this series with potential set up for future books.

I really wanted to love this because the characters are...

description

Riley is the perfect sexy southern gentlemen, Zoey is fun and sweet, and Riley's best friend Diesel is a freaking riot.

But the story....

description

First we have the opening prologue, where Riley and Zoey wake up after their drunken one night stand and can't remember each other's names. Which was fine...but then the book jumps back 72 hours, and we learn the MCs had actually hung out over the past two days, so they obviously knew each other.

description

Then they go back to their respective home states. Riley receives annulment papers and assumes he'll never see Zoey again, but then she shows up at the ranch and says she wants to see if their relationship could actually work.

And then nothing happens...for a really, really long time.

description

Eventually the author realizes something has to happen, so she makes up the most ridiculous non-drama drama ever.
SpoilerZoey accepted a marriage proposal after she married Riley from a guy she wasn't interested in because her parents like his family.

description

Why is this stupid? Because this is not the middle ages. Parents don't dictate these things in the modern world, especially when the heroine is a freaking hair stylist! She refers to herself as a trophy wife...on what planet exactly? Her parents aren't royalty or high-powered executives with tons of connections; they’re doctors in Phoenix. She's the daughter of doctors who recently graduated from cosmetology school. Apparently this is enough to make her a trophy wife.

description

And then to make it even more ridiculous, when this @sswipe shows up to "claim" her, she goes with him!

description

She said she loves Riley and she doesn't want to go but that she has no choice. How does she have no choice? She's 21 freaking years old in the twenty first century. Tell the douche to back off and stay will the dude you say you love. I didn’t even care about these two getting together after that nonsense.

description

I just can't even with this.

I loved the Bishop Brother series and finding out there would be a spin off involving the kids always makes me happy.

This was the first book in this series involving the first born child Riley who wakes up married after a trip to Vegas.

Zoey decides not to sign the annulment papers and give their marriage a chance because their is definitely a connection between them, even if they initially only had that one weekend together.

I love the writing of Kennedy Fox. The bishop brothers series is so incredibly cosy and funny, steamy and just the right amount of angst.

I love small town/rancher romances, especially written by this incredible writing duo.

This can be read as a standalone, but I definitely recommend at least reading Taming Him which features Riley's origin story? Stephen Dexter really brings Riley to life and I inhaled this story faster the second time than I did the first.

I’m absolutely loving the new generation of Bishop books! This book follows Riley and Zoey, who accidentally get hitched in Vegas during a bachelorette and birthday weeknd. Riley is the sweet cowboy, who is definitely a morning bird, loved his family and is extremely hardworking. Zoey is a hairdresser, the “black sheep” in her family but she quickly falls in love with Riley’s family. I loved their story, though it wasn’t as steamy as the other Kennedy Fox books, this one was just as sweet. Throughout the story, Zoey and Riley try to see if they can really be married to each other, despite not knowing each other that well. The side characters interactions are just perfect in this story, they are so involved and the Bishop family is absolutely amazing to follow. This story also leads up to a very anticipated third book in the Circle B ranch series!!

Instalove and Marraige of Convenience books aren't my favorite... but I've always enjoyed KF books, so I thought I would give this audio a try.

The narration was perfection. They took on these characters as if they were Riley and Zoe and just nailed it.

I really did like this story. Riley is a sweet rancher who was a breath of fresh air. He is loyal and devoted to his family. Zoe is carefree, fun and adventurous. I loved watching them explore the possibility of a real relationship. Riley's roommate and best friend Diesel is a wild, crazy daredevil sidekick and I am going to read his book too. There were some times where I found myself frustrated with Zoe but she redeemed herself. I'm not one that is into westerns, but I want to go visit that ranch because it sounds so amazing. :)

I can’t get enough of the Bishops!

Hitching the Cowboy is book #2 in the Circle B Ranch Series — a spin-off from the Bishop Brothers Series — by Kennedy Fox and can be read as a standalone. I might have been just a tad more excited than usual about this book because it follows Riley Bishop, the son of Alex and River Bishop who I ADORED in their own book! It is really fun to read about the next generation of a literary fam you love!

In Hitching the Cowboy we get an instant, undeniable attraction, Vegas shenanigans (including a drunken wedding!), a sweet, slow burn as Riley and Zoey get to really know each other, and an adorable epilogue that has left me excited for the next book in the series. This wasn’t as angsty or steamy as other KF books, but it didn’t need to be!

The characters really brought the story together. I loved seeing the Bishop family again, and the Vegas crew had me cackling! And, of course, I really liked Riley and Zoey. As much as I enjoyed their individual characters, I enjoyed them together most of all.

Overall, I recommend Hitching the Cowboy! It can definitely be read as a complete standalone, but I appreciated it so much more because I fell in love with the Bishops a long time — and several books — ago.

*Thanks to the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for providing me with an advanced copy of this book. Please note that it, in no way, had an effect on my opinion or review.

Riley is in Vegas to celebrate his best friends birthday when he meets Zoey who happens to be in Vegas for her sister's bachelorette party. As soon as their eyes locked across the room there was something there. One thing leads to another and the next thing they know they are waking up married in Vegas. Zoey ends up going to visit Riley to see if their marriage could actually survive and the two start getting to know each other. This is my first cowboy book by this author and I felt that the middle kind of droned on a little bit. About 68% is when things started getting interesting for me and I wanted to know how the characters were going to get themselves out of the messes they created for themselves. I wish we would have had more excitement in the earlier chapters, but overall it was a cute cowboy romance.

This book is full of giggles and swoon moments that will keep you on your toes. I loved Riley and seeing how he has grown up. Then you have Zoey who was a wildcard in his life but their connection was so deep that you couldn’t help but root for them. Especially after waking up like they did in Vegas. But as they go through the paces, you find that these two are really meant for each other but there is always that monkey wrench tossed in. My heart broke for these two when that massive twist was thrown in. I understood what Zoey did. And I felt Riley’s reaction.
Overall, this book is a brilliant addition to the Bishop family that it makes me excited to see more! I love the push and pull, the drama, and those sizzling moments! I loved everything about it!

Wow

I love how much they are like Alex and River.

It was hilarious

I will say at about 70% I wanted to smack Zoey.

She had me in tears.

I loved these two.
