Its been a while since I've read a vampire manga so I figured I'd give this series a try...so far the concept is interesting, I'm pretty iffy on the characters but I will say that it has captured my attention.

Maria seems like a manipulative spineless jerk tbh
Maria and Mary interactions got me like AYO?! 🏳️‍🌈🤨  Can't spell Bloody without BL
thrown in headfirst but I'm not confused (yet).

This was a rather odd manga that held my attention more than i thought it would. It starts out slow but does pick up pass and interest

I love this concept and the nostalgic, emo vibes of the art style. It is quite pretty, and the humor isn't too bad. I will be continuing the series.

I initially thought that this book would have LGBTQ+ rep, it doesn't (at least, in the first volume), which that's okay! From what vampire stories I have read, which is minimal, this manga is interesting! I don't know fully of what I think of it, considering that it's just the first volume.
Do I recommend it? Yeah, it was entertaining and I wasn't bored while reading it. I don't know whether I'll continue the story or not. Perhaps I'll cross paths with the second volume some other day....

~3.5/5

I expected this series to be a bit darker than it is, though there is definitely more coming.

Bloody Mary is a vampire, only all the typical rules of being a vampire don’t count on him, and he doesn’t want to want blood. All Mary wants to do is die, and he believes that Maria can do that. Maria, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with vampires, wants them to leave him alone, only to find out that he’s supposed to have some kind of special powers from an ancestor.

Maria is cold and more of a loner than anything. Mary is sulking and a bit of a wimp (in attitude, not physically), still feeling terrible over a past tragedy. Mary falls for most of the comedy relief, with his exaggerations, and I find him rather cute. There are clearly some BL undertones here, including some blood drinking, but I don’t think anything is going to come of it.

There are darker things being hinted at, violence and secrets, and I’m intrigued. The artwork is very pretty, much like the cover. I’m not sucked in yet, but I am intrigued to read more.
