The book on generational trauma published ~5 years before the phrase "generational trauma" entered the vernacular. 

Did you watch Encanto and walk away hollow and dissatisfied at the resolution -- or rather, lack thereof? Have you also cried a few too many times at literally any of the daughters' songs, but especially Mirabel or Luisa's, because you relate a little too much? Then oh boy do I have a book for you.

This book was overall very validating. I only knocked off half a point for the epilogue, which (and I wish I was joking when I say this) closed the book by saying, "And now you can go heal yourself!! Aren't you glad you experienced so much childhood trauma so you can heal yourself??" So, uh... Yeah, there's that.

Great nonfiction book for adults who are healing from the abuse that their parents subjected them to! Genuinely great advice from this book that I will probably keep referring to throughout my life. I listened to it on audiobook, but I’d like to buy a physical copy.
