a very validating and helpful book for beginning the process of healing and letting go of trying to change people (especially parents) who don’t have the capacity to meet your emotional needs. I’d maybe actually give this more like 4.5 stars just because I would like to see some more practical steps for healing and especially for identifying unhealthy patterns in yourself and working to develop your own emotional maturity.. but overall this was a helpful and informative read.

Love it, so helpful. Most in this category deal with romantic relationships or parent/child where the child is a minor. It’s very helpful to have a resource as an adult, and gives great insights into parents

My first self help/psychology/non-fiction book. My goal is to read more of these.

I thought this was an interesting read. It spends a lot of time breaking down and defining terminology and the concept of emotional immaturity.

Interested in reading more of these types of books!

I already recommended it to all my siblings lol. I feel like i need to read it again but with the physical copy so i can make notes and highlight it as i go. Even if you love your parents like i do, its an insightful book.

This book is helpful for those who may have grown up
With emotionally immature parent(s).
It was a bit harder for me to follow along to die to the way it was written but it was still very eye opening and provided great insight on how to deal with emotionally immature parent(s).
