Great Read

This story is full of action, drama, and sexy fun. All kinds of twists and turns. It is a unique take on your traditional angel/demon story.

Does what you'd expect from the cover/blurb with a few bonuses: Corvin builds some of Hell out for her characters to saunter through, but not more than is needed for this kind of story. The portrayal of Satan was relatively intimidating. Lucifer (separate character) occasionally hits on a bit of the fathomless-mourning-yet-not-regret vibes which make fallen angels so compelling. The monster-woman built up as the final obstacle for the main character has a cool design when she finally comes into play (would have made a more interesting main character perhaps).

Drawbacks: Many makeover scenes, many arena battles. I skipped both. Some of the dialogue is too Buffy for something written in 2020. The main character is perfect and blameless and oh so small (this will be another bonus for some). All other women are either enemies to defeat in battle, bitches, or the one makeover friend. I also thought it would be queerer (missed opportunity imo) but that's down to personal preference.

uhm i know that ending was supposed give tension but like lol. everyone is a shell of a person no characterization just vibes and events. won’t cont with this.

also the male narrator sucks. most male narrators suck when it comes to feminine voices. i had to read the male povs my self.

To be honest, I really liked this book!
Melisande was human, raised an angel and fell to Hell.
It's deliciously dark, and its heroine is strong but knows when she needs help (accepting it is a different story, though). The men are mysterious, interesting, and (very) swoon-worthy.
The characters feel real and believable (I really like Vyra!), the setting and worldbuilding ensured an excellent level of immersion, and the story had me engrossed from start to finish.
All in all, great start to the series, and I would recommend getting the sample chapters if you're into angels/demons and reverse harem. Needless to say, I've got the next one queued up on my kindle and ready to go! ;)

“There’s no cage he could make that would hold me forever.”

hmm. an entertaining read! nothing crazy but it’s really fun. i’ll admit, making lucifer and satan two different people goes crazy. and i was deeply unsettled by satan’s description. melisande’s journey thus far is interesting. being led into temptation, wanting it, but also wanting to get back to heaven… whew.
