Not as fast-paced as some of Grisham's others. The plot was just interesting enough to want to finish.

This was something a little bit different from John Grisham. I thought it would be predictable but there was a nice little plot twist at the end. Some of it was far-fetched but that's what I like from my books! Who would want to read only about reality? Overall I thought it was a great, light, vacation read.

Michael Beck again brings Grisham alive in the tale of a disgraced POTUS pardoning a notorious broker of DC deals, unwittingly attaching himself to a CIA plot to flush out the main bad actors who would want Joel Backman murdered: Mossad, Saudis, China, etc. Very fun and intriguing, and loved the underbelly of DC politics.

Not worth anybody’s time. The majority of the book is just filler pages that don’t move the very thin and boring plot along.
