Vibes - Fine

For the pessimists
If you're an optimist then this book isn't for you. Ian (MMC) tells Blake (FMC) frequently to her face that he wants her, he continuously is there for her and supports her but she has the mental narrative that he is going to leave when he gets bored of her because he was a womaniser before they got together. As a pessimist I get it but I get that some people might find it annoying. Ian has been in love with her for years but she has a hard time accepting that she might deserve a big love as a big girl. I would like to have understood what hardships she went through to enforce this way of thinking (other than her mother who while being disrespectful, wasn't cruel) because you don't get to that conclusion without evidence. There was a lot of him supporting her but not a lot of her supporting him which seemed really one-sided which bugged me. I did enjoy it but it had a lot of flaws to.

Mixed feelings

It is my first book of the year and didn’t want it to be a dnf. But I must say I would have done it otherwise.

Pro: I like the author style and writing. The hero was perfect and a dream.
Con: the heroine, the heroine, the heroine. I could not stand her. So stuck in her head and it isn’t even about insecurities but assuming the hero feelings or lack of

Love....conquers all fears

Ian and Blake are so set in their ways, but LOVE WINS!!! I love the struggles, the depth of feeling, the love they hold back. I just absolutely love the group of friends that all have their backs!!

I found this book really hard to finish. The FMC’s internal monologue is so repetitive and is mentioned at least every chapter (and sometimes multiple times a chapter). I don’t think I would try this author again.
