What a beautiful treat! I can see using this book in a bedtime-themed playgroup. The language is beautiful and poetic, exploring family and animals that live in northern climes. And of course the illustrations are stellar. Such a wonderful atmosphere in which to drift off to sleep! Leo & Diane Dillon have never failed to completely blow me away! They are amazing!

Northern Lullaby is another picture book that defined my childhood literacy. At a young age, I was fascinated with Native American culture, particularly in the Pacific Northwest. This poem of Alaskan Inuit spirits protects a baby's sleep and dreams. It was lovely to revisit all these years later.
