An ER nurse searching for her brother seeks help from the man who begrudged her father for his losses. Nick is stoic and damaged, with a sense of honor; Becca is determined, brave and sweet. Though the attraction/lust was instant, Nick's angst/secrets mean a slower burn to the actual romance. There's strong sexual tension and the foreplay scenes are pretty 🔥, though there's some hot/cold from him. His angst also gets to be rather repetitive. 

Becca is honest about her feelings, and she fights for what she wants. They have a good journey of growth, and I liked how Becca brings the light and meaning back into Nick's life. And a protective hero is a plus! The fun suspense and action set-up includes the intro of a huge side cast. I liked them fine, but it felt quite chaotic at times. The 🐕 is super cute!
