I listened via audiobook so maybe that was part of the problem, but there were so many parts that were confusing and unnecessary. Who was where? And why?
And while I loved some of the new characters, others really didn’t seem essential to the plot or add much value to the book.

Spoilers:
My biggest problem after finishing this book is the gargoyle army. Last we knew, Chastain cut Grace off and basically said he hates her and will never serve her. But then… mid boss fight… they all show up and he’s bowing and kissing her ring and calling her queen??? What changed?? I feel like I really missed something there. Did I fall asleep and miss something major? I mean I hope so because it makes no sense.

Love the love, love the diversity and inclusion, loved the plot twists, definitely did not love the excessive internal dialogue, and I certainly don’t like the random little plot strings that she left open.

I’ll probably read the “novella” but won’t read the last book in this series. This one really should have been the end imo.

Finally, the big bad has been vanquished! ... So, why are there two more books? I'm scared.

Another book in this series that I really enjoyed. I really like these characters, even though they do some stupid things. ~Read it!

3.75?
Idk y’all, this one was painfully long and for no reason? I didn’t feel as connected to the characters/story here. I guess some important stuff happened but I didn’t really have any feelings about it but then also not much happened. Ya know?
And this one felt like it should have been the last book. I really have no idea where this is going to go for 2 more installments. I’ve loved every one up until this point and the ending here got me just excited enough for the next.
Basically, I pulled through for my man Hudson and I will prevail for my man Hudson. I love him so much.
The romance was also quite lacking in this one
